Being part of the Fall 2008 Mensa Research Journal dedicated to artistic intelligence gave me a chance to research and compile important pieces of information that I was then able to share with readers, as well as use in making the case for the arts in primary, secondary and higher education at academic conferences and presentations.
The collaborative nature of the MRJ also introduced me to some terrific Mensans who care deeply about our organization and who displayed tremendous patience throughout the issue's development and eventual publication — specifically Phyllis Miller, Shirley Loges, Leon Feingold and Kathleen Spaltro. Without them, my work as Guest Editor would have been exponentially more difficult and less a labor of love, which is the best way I can describe the process of idea to issue.
