Diarra Edwards lives and works in New York, NY where she is a corporate restructuring attorney at Kirkland and Ellis. Before becoming a lawyer, she was a filmmaker. She adopted the moniker Di, like the letter, while on set because she thought it sounded edgy.
Di is a member of Greater New York Mensa (GNYM) and became the Area Coordinator for the Bronx and Westchester in 2023. In GNYM, she consistently demonstrated commitment to fostering member engagement in the New York Mensa community. She represented her local chapter in the 2023 Misster Mensa pageant where she was the first runner-up.
Di served the broader New York community as a local and regional administrator for the Buy Nothing Project for six years. During that time, she served on the national committee drafting community standards and promoted the project in the local news.
Di is an alumna of New York University School of Law, Washington University in St. Louis, Management Leadership for Tomorrow, and Prep for Prep.
Di’s creativity and deeply held values, justice, compassion, and integrity would make her a fantastic addition to the Mensa Foundation board.
