The first speakers for the 2013 event in Fort Worth, Texas, have been announced.
Lt. Gen. Rick Lynch (U.S. Army, retired), the executive director of a research institute focusing on advanced technology that can help humanity, will speak on the military applications of robotics. His presentation will ask the question, "How far should we go?" and will examine today's (and tomorrow's) military applications as well as questions for society.
Todd Johnson McCaffrey, author of Dragon’s Fire, a New York Times best-seller, will offer his insights into where science fiction has been and where it is going. He’ll explore, among other things, the relationship between the “ray gun” and the radar gun and the influence of Star Wars on the Ballistic Missile Defense Shield.
